YELLOWSTONE UPDATE:  Park Service Releases Draft Range of Alternatives for Yellowstone Winter Use Plan

The good news-the Park Service listened to our collective scoping comments from earlier this year. Our comments have been incorporated into the just-released draft, Six Alternatives for the Yellowstone Park Winter Use Plan. These alternatives will be reviewed over the next few months and will serve as a critical part of the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that will be released for public comment.

Please review the draft alternatives using the Park Service newsletter. Note the Park Service will be holding two webinars and a conference call during the week of August 2nd. Information about signing up for the webinars and joining the conference call can be found on the Yellowstone Park Service media release dated July 22, 2010, which can be viewed by clicking here.

BlueRibbon considers this a positive step. Jack Welch, BlueRibbon Special Project Consultant, stated, "The six draft alternatives have all the raw materials to make a very good Winter Use Plan." Welch continued, "We look forward to the webinars and conference call to ask questions about the alternatives. This list provides the tools for a workable long-term solution."

Please take time to review the draft alternatives and remember to stay informed on the Yellowstone Winter Use issue. Visit our dedicated website of www.saveyellowstonepark.com
