Hello,
Has anyone developed a cost or pay rate for groomer operations for your club or state?  I would like to develop a pay rate for grooming operations based on hours groomed that would include the operating costs associated with a groomer.  The pay rate would include costs such as fuel, oil, maintenance, repairs, depreciation, insurance and taxes (no labor or cost of equipment). Furthermore, I am looking for three different pay rates based on the different types of groomers (large groomer, small groomer and light-utility snowmobile).
I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

I use a spreadsheet for ND that includes most of the items you mentioned.  My assistant accounts for all of the trail expenses throughout the season.  These costs are divided into the miles groomed to come up with an average grooming cost/mile of trail.  This is figured for both contract groomers and state owned equipment.  If you would like to see the Excel document so you can taylor it to your own needs or get ideas to create your own, I'd be happy to email it to you.  Please let me know.  Thanks!
